Andrew Walter is the First Assistant Secretary of the Integrity and Security Division in the Australian Government Attorney‑General’s Department. The Division provides advice to Government on a wide range of legal and policy issues, including: counter-terrorism legislation, human rights, privacy, criminal laws, fraud and corruption, foreign influence and administrative law. A lawyer by training, Andrew joined the Department in 2002 and has worked in a variety of policy and strategy roles. Andrew is also the Chair of the Council of General Affairs and Policy of the Hague Conference on Private International Law.
