Chris is the Head of Engagement and Membership for the Government Counter Fraud Profession. In this role Chris is responsible for the development of the Profession and communications activity, including the Public Sector Counter Fraud Journal.
Chris, who holds a Master of Arts in Fraud Management, has worked in counter fraud roles for his entire career, the majority of which has been in operational roles. He started working in claims verification in a local authority, before training as a fraud investigator in 2003, completing both the Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist and Accredited Counter Fraud Manager qualifications. In 2006 he moved into a fraud manager role and then gained accreditation as a financial investigator in 2009.
In 2015, Chris moved to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), managing the investigations and compliance functions for East Anglia. He was appointed to the Investigation Manager Advisory Panel for the Government Counter Fraud Profession in 2018 and then took on the lead within DWP for implementing the Profession.
