Nick Tomlinson

Head of Counter Fraud Function and Assurance - Cabinet Office

Nick Tomlinson rejoined the Cabinet Office fraud team to lead the Counter Fraud Functional Centre in November 2021. The Counter Fraud Function is one of the government’s fourteen functions and it brings together 16,000 public servants who work to find and fight fraud across the public sector. Nick spent 2015-17 developing the “Fraud Iceberg” evidence base and the Fraud Measurement and Assurance programme for Cabinet Office. In the interim he worked at the Insolvency Service and HM Passport Office as a change management practitioner and more recently as a product manager in digital services. His public sector career started at Legal Aid Agency, where he worked on the fraud and error reduction that enabled LAA to have their NAO accounts qualification lifted.
