Lucy is a member of the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors – also Qualified in Internal Audit Leadership. Most of Lucy's career has been spent working in Local Government – the last 12 years heading up Lincolnshire's County Council's Audit and Risk service (operating as Assurance Lincolnshire). This includes the Internal Audit, Counter Fraud & Investigations, Risk Management, Health & Safety and Insurance functions of the Council. She also leads her team in providing governance and audit services to a number of external clients – including counter fraud support. Lucy set up the Council's counter fraud team in 2006 and was instrumental in creating the Lincolnshire Counter Fraud Partnership in 2015 – a collaboration of public sector bodies working together to tackle fraud. Lucy's extensive knowledge and experience in governance and risk has played a key part in her team being recognised in exemplars in practice including the Public Finance Innovation Awards for Risk Management and the Government Counter Fraud Award for Excellence in Rising Fraud Awareness.
